A Welcome Letter from Ms. Thompson:

Dear Charter Oak Families,

Sunday, March 9, was the start of daylight saving time. This means that we had to move our clocks ahead one hour – and lose an hour of shut-eye. Of course, now we get to enjoy more daylight at the end of the day! Following the polar vortex that we experienced throughout the last few months, this is a great thing. Now, it is up to us to adjust the inner clock of ourselves and our children. We may be inclined to want a few extra minutes before coming to school each day. Working together, students and adults must adjust to get to school on time each morning. Great instruction will begin promptly. Commit to getting here on time so that our students do not miss a moment of the valuable teaching and learning. Parents/Guardians – I thank you in advance for your effort to ensure the children are well rested, fed and ready for the daily charge. Don’t forget breakfast is also an option and available each day at COIA. The students go down for breakfast at 8:05.
